NEA Task 2 : Research into Bauer

 Bauer is a 'German multimedia conglomerate' who internationally operate owning over 600 magazines. over 400 digital products and over 50 radio stations. 

Bauer claim they are 'enriching everyday life' by being one of the most successful publishing houses globally, as well as number one in Europe. They have 'over 150 years of publishing experience' as well as approximately 1600 employees in 13 countries who deliver content and services. Bauer convey tradition and collectiveness as 200 million engage with their services worldwide, the business has always been family owned and is currently in its 5th generation. Some of Bauer's best known brands include; Cosmopolitan, Empire and Tele, by creating a wide range of media texts, Bauer has something for almost any interest.

Bauer prioritise their cultural impact by taking mental health wellbeing as well as sustainability very seriously. In 2018, they launched a campaign 'Where's Your Head At?' in aim to create equality between the way mental and physical health are viewed in the workplace. The 'Bauer Academy' also provides training in support and guidance in regards to wellbeing to their employees. They also use days like Mental Health day to spread their support, hoping to 'open up conversations'.  Bauer have sustainability pledges to 'people, planet, partners' which include promises to use 'the power of our brands and platforms', a plan to move towards sustainable workplaces, transitions to electric vehicles and to partner and collaborate with others who encourage sustainability.
